Honey Calcite is a variety of Calcite (CaCO₃) whose golden-yellow to amber color results from the presence of iron and manganese oxides in moderate concentrations incorporated during the precipitation of calcium carbonate. It forms in sedimentary, hydrothermal environments and in cavities in carbonate rocks, where solutions rich in calcium and metallic ions gradually deposit the mineral. The characteristic honey shade is distinguished from Cream Calcite by the higher concentration of ferrous oxides in the structure, which intensify the pigmentation towards golden tones. It maintains the typical physical properties of the species, including perfect rhombohedral cleavage in three directions and an effervescent reaction upon contact with dilute hydrochloric acid. Hardness: 3 on the Mohs scale. Density: 2.71 g/cm³. Crystalline system: trigonal. Available variations, approximate data: 1 to 3 cm — Approx. 0.010 kg — 250 pcs per kg 3 to 6 cm — 0.030 to 0.150 kg — 30 pieces per kg 6 to 15 cm — 0.150 to 0.800 kg — 2 to 3 pieces per kg
