Rose Quartz (Rolled) 3-8cm

Rose Quartz is a variety of quartz (SiO₂) whose pink color, which varies from light pink to intense pink, results from the presence of submicroscopic inclusions of fibers of dumortierite or titanium rutile dispersed in the silica matrix during crystalline growth. In some specimens, traces of manganese and titanium in structural defects of the crystal lattice additionally contribute to the pink pigmentation. It forms predominantly in granitic pegmatites and hydrothermal veins, crystallizing in granular masses without well-defined crystalline faces. Prolonged exposure to sunlight can gradually fade the coloring, due to the sensitivity of the color centers to ultraviolet radiation. The mechanical rolling process progressively rounds the ends and corners of the parts, resulting in a smoothed external profile that preserves the internal structure. Hardness: 7 on the Mohs scale.
