Amethyst Super Seven — Rolado

Amethyst Super Seven is a rare mineral association composed of seven mineral species in a single matrix: Amethyst (SiO₂ with Fe⁴⁺), Hyaline Quartz (SiO₂), Smoky Quartz (SiO₂ with defects due to irradiation), Cacoxenite (Fe⁴³⁺(PO₄)₂₈(OH)₁₂·17H₂O), Rutile (TiO₂), Goethite (FeO·OH) and Lepidocrocite (FeO·OH — polymorph of goethite). It forms in pegmatites and hydrothermal veins under specific geochemical conditions that allow simultaneous or sequential precipitation of these seven species in a single quartz matrix. The characteristic color — with shades of purple, gold, brownish-red and orange distributed irregularly — results from the visual combination between the different minerals present. The mechanical rolling process progressively rounds the ends and corners of the pieces, resulting in a smoothed external profile that preserves the internal mineral composition. Hardness: 5 to 7 on the Mohs scale (composite). Density: 2.65 to 4.30 g/cm³ (variable depending on the proportion of minerals). Crystalline system: predominant trigonal.
